Reading time

How long a reader spent on your proposal in total and on each page, the closest thing to watching them read.

Reading time is the measured duration a reader keeps a proposal page open in front of them. Tracked per page, it becomes a map of attention: which pages were skimmed, which were studied, which were never reached. Summed across a visit, it tells you whether the document was opened out of curiosity for a few seconds or actually read.

It matters because a proposal sent as a PDF attachment tells you nothing after it leaves your outbox. You do not know whether it was opened, and you certainly do not know that the reader spent most of the visit on the pricing page and never reached the implementation plan. Reading time per page turns the follow-up call from guesswork into a conversation about what the reader actually looked at: you can lead with the section that held them, and you can notice when the decisive pages were skipped. It also tells you what to fix in the document itself, when the same page loses every reader.

In Seegnals an offer is a PDF served page by page through a personal link. Each visit is tracked (when, how long, device, how far they read) and the offer stats show reading time per page as a heat map of attention, along with visits and returns.
